GHS Careers
Our mission is to bring like-minded people together who are looking to make primary healthcare available to people in need around the world. We will do this through disease prevention, health promotion, and illness management. Working in partnerships with universities and local communities, we rely on volunteers and students to staff the facilities. We offer students the opportunity to put their medical skills to use thus adding to their education.

How to Get Involved for Students
Student Application
The process of starting medical school can be exhilarating and intimidating. In addition to the demanding course load, most students will have to move to a new city or state and adjust to a new area. Unlike college, where students arrange classes and fit in additional activities, medical school is a set schedule designated by the school. Though this can seem like a relief, the schedule itself is very demanding.
Graduates
Fourth-year medical students generally attempt to match with a residency program within the medical specialty they find most interesting. Most medical students participate in the National Resident Matching Program, though some get involved with specialty-specific matching programs such as those for aspiring urologists and ophthalmologists. Some medical specialties, such as orthopedic surgery, are highly competitive so usually only the highest-achieving medical students can match.
How to Get Involved for Doctors
M.D. Careers
Once someone has earned a medical degree and graduated from medical school, he or she is officially a doctor. However, even after a person obtains a medical degree, he or she typically needs to complete a medical residency within a particular medical specialty, such as pediatrics or radiology, to practice medicine independently in his or her community. There are some regions of the U.S. where med school grads who have not obtained residencies can work as health care providers, such as Missouri, Utah, and Arkansas. The intention behind this accommodation for individuals with a medical degree but without a residency is to address doctor shortages.

Global Health Shift
We want to level the playing field by offering primary care in regions that currently do not have easy access to healthcare. These healthcare centers will be integrated into local communities and will be an integral part of these communities for decades and centuries.
We offer students the opportunity to get first-hand experience by being part of an organization that wants to bring real change into local communities.
